For those of you following the graphic novel, I have created a facebook page for it:

www.facebook.com/PrydainGraphi…

Come on by, like and follow. I don't know how often I will post new pages here but they will all make it to the FB page (unless FB shuts me down for copyright violation; I don't know how much fanart can squeak by its policies but I'll keep it going as long as they allow.)

FYI, everybody, I just switched out my Last Treasure of Llyr file with a higher res one, so, if you've ever wanted to zoom in a little closer on all that Taran/Eilonwy rosiness, go give a click.

Just to give an update on the graphic novel, I am taking a quick break from it in order to work on some other projects. For one thing, I promised a book cover something like a year ago and am now trying to get that finished up. Plus the man and I have several projects in the works that, you know, might actually prove profitable, and I need to devote some attention to those.

And there's the inconvenient detail that I'm kind of going blind.

Right after New Year's I started having some vision problems - flashing lights, auras around windows. My doc told me I was having migraines but it went on and on and on. Long story short, after a month I've finally been diagnosed with inflammation inside the eye, maybe or maybe not caused by some kind of underlying medical condition, which we're trying to get to the bottom of. It's treatable, and MOST cases respond favorably. So far the first line of attack is not doing much for me, and my visual acuity has diminished a bit, but I am pursuing more aggressive treatment and am in hopes of a complete recovery.

Anyway. This is not a sympathy bid; I only offer it by way of explanation if output slows down (not that it's been incredibly fast to begin with). Also to drive home the advice, to anyone who might be reading, never to let a doctor blow you off if you know something is wrong. It took almost four weeks to find someone to take me seriously on this.

Live, dream, and create, my friends. You never know what the next day is going to bring!

You guys know my other half, dA member scaleyscribe - many of you have gone over and befriended him as well. In RL he earns our bread and butter as a costume designer for Disney Creative Entertainment (this is the branch affiliated with the theme parks, not the films), and for the last year and a half he's been flitting back and forth to Tokyo like some big shot, doing all the costuming for Tokyo Disney's 30th anniversary "Happiness Parade". Because he's too modest (or possibly just too spacey) to mention it, I will boast and crow about how awesome he is and casually link to this video of the parade, which debuted a few days ago.

(skip to about 4:20; before that it's just waiting)

The work involved in this thing involved countless late nights, weeks on end on the other side of the planet, panicked days when his incorrect blackberry settings made it impossible for us to communicate, and even a patient's POV of the Japanese health care system when he wound up in a hospital there. FUN TIMES. On the upshot, his team there is full of very lovely people, and he has raved endlessly about their work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. (Not to mention their warmth and generosity.)

And he brings me back Kit-Kats. In like, 50 different flavors. That, right there, is enough to make me willing to relocate. If, you know, the company ever wants him there on a more permanent basis. Yeeeeahhhh, there's that whole earthquake and tsunami thing, but...SAKURA MATCHA KIT-KATS. That's all I'm saying.

Go watch it. :)

Update

1 min read
Just an FYI to everyone: page 7 is up, and I am going to strive to update on the weekends. I won't say /every/ weekend simply because these aren't averaging out to one/week very often, but when I do post, it seems to be falling into a pattern of weekends anyway. Might as well keep to that window when more folks have leisure to browse.

Thanks to all of you who have been commenting and following. It's kind of an overwhelming project if I think too far ahead, so hearing feedback and encouragement helps motivate me to continue, one page at a time.

Enjoy!
