From Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain, The Book of Three. Taran takes advantage of Dallben's supposed nap to try to get a peek inside the Book of Three. An act that will have nasty consequences.

Jason: No, no one fucks about with you if you're carrying a big heavy stick.
This is awesome! I can't believe it's got so few faves. It's such a crying shame! I love the expressiveness of this piece. The boy's eyes and clenched mouth really bring across that feeling of needing to be stealthy. The storytelling's great, and it's so well executed! Kudos!!

And in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.
My thanks to you! For the fave and the compliments.
I think the subject matter works against me, in that a lot of people kind of gloss over illustrative work from unfamiliar stories and gravitate to their own interests, and Prydain is not very well-known these days. It's natural. But I do appreciate when someone who doesn't know the story is able to "get into" a picture anyway - it tells me I've succeeded in conveying something of the narrative.

He get's BURNED Haha Really this is such an incredible piece. It's beautiful in every way. And the Chronicles of Prydain never get enough attention! Amazing job! That's exactly how i picture Taran.
A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
